An Experiential Learning Exchange (ELX) Coach for Graphic and Web Design
In Ryerson’s Chang School ELX modules, we focus on a specific, career-building skill and is structured around one-on-one coaching via Skype or Google Hangouts. You can break up your coaching hours and schedule them as you wish, but 1hr sessions work best. Together, we will work on your project – with the emphasis on learning by doing so you attain the specific skills that you need for the outcome you’re working on accomplishing.
Carley Chamberlain is an entrepreneur who needed a website to push her small business forward and market her services. She turned to the ELX, signing up for one-on-one coaching with communication designer Christine Whone, who helped her create a website for Carley Artistry, her hair and makeup business.
“When I heard about Coaching at the ELX, I was very excited,” Carley says. “I knew I would not only learn the process of creating a WordPress site for my business, I would have a helping hand to guide me the whole way.” Carley recognized the value of reaching out for collaboration and guidance: “It’s OK to ask for help. In fact, it’s necessary! Being able to lean on the strengths of experts to make things happen is a remarkable thing.”
Carley’s business now has a beautifully designed website, and she’s learned valuable digital marketing skills and expanded her professional network.
